SHAPPY'S ONLINE DIARY:
Monday, February 26, 2007 It's been a little rough around the edges lately! We had a house guest for a week during which our shitty downstairs neighbor came up and complained about me walking too loud, the toilet overflowed, my computer crashed and some asshole collection agent called me at work to try and collect money that the statute of limitations expired on 10 years ago! I have literally had a pain in my neck for a week. Plus, I've been "down-sized" at my job which means $30 less a week on my paycheck. Luckily, I can make up that difference for the whole year with a college gig (which I just got! See ya soon Muhlenberg College!). And on the plus side, it means less work for me and probally a smaller cell phone bill since I won't be talking to liquor and beer companies all the time. Still, I have to admit it stings a little. I did find out that I will have a new book project coming out this year and it is my birthday in two days. Plus, Ernie helped me get my computer up and running again so I guess things are looking up. posted by Shappy at 6:01 PM
Thursday, February 15, 2007 Hope everyone had a Happy Valentine's Day! I made dinner for Cristin and gave her what we are calling a "promise ring" and a strand of pearls! The pearls belonged to my Dad's mom. Cristin gave me a membership to Housing Works which gets me a 10% discount at thier awesome used bookstore! Plus, everything I buy there goes to AIDS research! I am waiting for Cristin's friend from Austrailia to show up. He's staying with us for a week or so. I've started a new schedule at the BPC that has me working every other Monday and Moonshine covers every other Friday. It works out pretty good for both of us since we each get several days off in a row and keeps me from going crazy from working too many lame-o hip-hop shows in a row. Urbana has been doing really well despite the cold weather. We have our 3rd Semi-Finals next Tuesday. I attended the Anna Nicole Smith tribute this past Monday at the O'Deb's show. It was quite cathartic! I ate lots of hot dogs and drank many Buds. Cristin has finally finished her big writing project and is going to start up her comic diary back at her website aptowicz.com so check that out in the coming days. My birthday is coming up on Feb. 28th so expect something fun at the Feb. 27th Urbana. Next weekend is the New York ComicCon at Javits center so I hope to check that out and try to get Stan Lee to sign something for me. We have our annual Pieces Party at the BPC on March 3rd so keep that in mind if you are in town. It's always a winter blast! posted by Shappy at 1:59 PM
