Hope everyone has a nice holiday. Cristin and I went to Media, PA for lasagna at Kevin and Katie's. Played a lot of SET a card game Cristin got just for the occasion. Dr. Leo prescribed me some pills that eradicated the gout right out of my knees! Thanks Doc! After ripping a sink off the wall at a diner in Philly (we had lunch with Steph and Joe) I headed back to NYC to work on Friday. Cristin stayed in Philly to hang with all of her nerd thugs for her b-day. I watched cartoons most of Saturday (I got the Huckleberry Hound and Yogi Bear DVD sets) and I cat-sat for Cait and Leo so I got to pick up some b-day gifts for a snoo. I got her the new Billy Collins book, Love Actually on DVD and a pair of tickets for Westminister Dog Show on Valentine's Day! We had an awesome dinner at Just Arthurs! We'll be returning there with Cristin's folks in December. Did I mention I auditioned for a radio spot?
It was a poem about Mike and Ikes! Keep your fingers crossed for me!
Looks like I won't be able to get to see my niece and nephew this Christmas but have made plans to visit my folks in Florida in January for Mom's b-day and head to Ohio for Easter. Please keep my sister-in-law Katie in your thoughts and prayers as she had to go to the hospital due to complications with diabetes. It was a little scary but she's out of the hospital and at home re-cooping.
I got to go to a six course meal with a beer for each course thanks to the fine folks at Magic Hat Brewing! I had quail for the first time ever. It was kinda like eating an action figure. There was a limerick contest which I dominated! In fact I was appointed the warm up poet for each round. Anne from Magic Hat assured me that I get to go to the big Magic Hat Fest in Feburary. I want to roller boogie! By the way, Anne, if you are reading this I got stopped on the street yesterday by a couple of college cuties who wanted to know where I got my jacket and I directed them to your web-page! How's that for publicity?
We get to cat-sit next week which is great! Nothing beats walking to work!

Tuesday, November 22, 2005 Whoops! It's been almost 10 days since I last posted! Well, Cristin's toe has started to heel up! She was wearing my size 11 shoes for almost 2 weeks! I'm still a little limpy despite taking it easy on my knees and stuff. Since I last posted we have seen Billy Collins perform at the BPC and then read about him in Entertainment Weekly the next week! We had the 7 year anniversary for Urbana and had a great crowd. Cristin's pal Seth Myers visited and so did KiM and Tim from Australia! Cristin went to the National Dog Show with her mom so keep an eye out for them when they show it on Thanksgiving! I went to the Big Apple Con. It was super crowded and the selection wasn't as good as previous shows. I still found some okay stuff at decent prices. Tonight I made us a pre-Thanksgiving feast for us and we watched the 3-D episode of Medium. I got an easy week ahead of me only two shifts! Shappy Thanksgiving everyone! posted by Shappy at 12:27 AM

Welcome to Hobble House!
Poor Cristin's toenail become infected to the point that by the time her future doctor-in-law Leo had a look at it he told her that she might lose the nail. She did take some antibiotics and stuff but it was a case of toe little, toe late! My brave snoo had the sides of her toenail removed on Monday and stayed home on Tuesday cuz it hurt so much. Now the brave soldier is at work with a cane! Meanwhile, I'm getting over a major gout flare-up. I worked 4 nights last week and didn't eat right and to make matters worse I slipped and fell on a lemon on Friday night. Saturday I was walking like a zombie! We were gonna go to party and I told a buncha people we were coming but it was painful to walk and Cristin was all drugged up plus we were lucky enough to get to cat-sit last weekend so we stayed in for take-out and TiVo! Sorry, gang! We have a big weekend coming up. Taylor Mali is performing with Billy Collins on Saturday and Cristin's old roommate, Kim, is visiting from Australia. Even with all the limping I managed to get some stuff done. I sent out my niece's birthday present and was Cristin's caregiver the last few days.
Picked up the new Peanuts collection and Seth's new book Wimbledon Green which is all about comic book collectors and it's great. Been watching a lot of old Brady Bunch episodes on DVD and it has had a very calming and comforting effect. Hey! Just found out the BPC won 2nd place in the Red Bull can art contest! Red Lobster- here we come!

And just when I thought October couldn't get any cuter than me and my snoo eating apples with a B&B pood (short for poodle!), my little brother has to ruin it by sending me pics of my niece and neph rocking Halloween, Seasholtz-style:
