Star Wars Celebration 3 was AWESOME! Me, Ernie & Susan were at one with the Force! We got to see 22 minutes of SITH on a huge digital screen with ear-shattering sound! From what I've seen this could quite possibly be one of the best ones yet! Lucas will never top Episodes 4 & 5 but SITH could be better than the other 3 combined! We couldn't score any SWC3 merch (including the talking Vader) because the store was closed an hour after it opened. BOO! I did get some great stuff(still not able to find a Darth Tater!) and got to see Star Wars in 30 minutes which was a theater group that all of the original trilogy at a breakneck pace. If you check out the pictures you'll see how fun it was. The crazy thing is when we left people were standing outside in a line to see Lucas the next day IN A THUNDERSTORM! Now that's dedication!
The rest of the visit with Ern and Suz was super-chill. I got to meet thier pup, Hilde! She woke me up every morning with puppy kisses. I somehow managed to eat all of my fave foods while in the mid-west including a surprize visit from Chicken and Dumplings at the neighborhood diner, Taffie's! I also consumed BBQ at Famous Dave's and Chicken Fried Steak at Denny's! It was like the Meats of the Midwest tour.
Got to see the gang from Chicago Comics and played a round of Star Wars Trivial Pursuit at $10 a head the winner got a Vader Voice Changer Helmet. Cline wiped the board clean in under an hour! I got my revenge later at the Green Mill as me and Cline slammed aginst each other for a $10 prize. It all evened out. Got to see a lot of Chicago pals. Dawn Saylor featured at the Mill that night as well. We all did karoke after and stayed at Joel Chmara's pad. The next day we spent all day pouring through the racks at Quimby's. Liz had me write up a little something for the magalog. I got a huge pile of zines which is always cool cuz I can't find any in NYC! The gig that night was Mental Graffiti at the Funky Buddah. Smallish crowd but lots of friendly faces including Lucy Anderton and Nick Fox who are on thier way to France! Also the elusive Jason Pettus came out of hiding and interviewed me for his metafeed blog. Greg Gilliam was there as well ranting about the Virgin Mary that appeared at a Chicago underpass. Cline and I hauled ass out of there and I had a gig at the Normal Slam in the heart of the Illinois State U. Got to see Robbie Q and Shanny Jean and met a kid who took 4th with my poetry at the Speech Nationals! THe girl who won used one of Cristin's poems! Me and Ernie went back and played the Star Wars Lego video game all night long! So awesome! Me and Ernie also discussed some changes to the web page so keep your eyes peeled. Soon you'll be able to buy my shit off eBay!
Got back and went right back to work at the BPC. We had our last slam before finals and decided who else would be in finals. Bob was gonna host but fell ill so Cristin ended up hosting! Cute! We are going to co-host finals next Thursday which will be great. We got Marvel Comics to send some judges! I made great tips both Thursday and Friday which made me and Cristin's 4 and a half year anniversary a fine one as we dined at Olive Garden. Tomorrow is wiener dog day in Washington Square (noon!) and then I have a gig in Mt. Kisco (see upcoming shows). I'm also planning an awesome Nerd Slam for May 19th! May the Force be with you!

So San Francisco was an awesome trip and now I'm getting ready to pack up and go to Chicago for a visit! Here's some highlights from San Fran-
-Tourettes Without Regrets is the wildest poetry gig I've ever had, hands down! The place was packed(3oo peeps!) and the reaction was great. I did have some drunk hecklers but the energy from the rest of the crowd overwhelmed them. There were dirty haiku and evil clowns and one of the meanest free-style battles I have ever witnessed. Thanks to Jaime Kennedy and the rest of the crew for a great time!
-Chillin' with Krystal Ashe is always a pleasure. We hit a lot of thrift shops and ate a lot of Jack In The Box. It's great to visit with old pals!
-Bucky Sinister showed me around town and his awesome ladyfriend (Cristin!) cooked us a great supper on Friday. I was also introduced to a very cool video game that involves rolling a giant sticky-ball around. Bucky also bought me a burrito the size of my head. I couldn't finish it!
-Amoeba Records is the coolest record store EVER! I scored some awesome movies on the cheap! San Fran also boasts some of the coolest bookshops in the world!
_Thanks to Juliette Torrez for yet another fine book from Kapow! I am now the proud author of SHLOCK & AWE! With more fine drawings from Sam Henderson! I'll have it up on the product page soon!
-Thanks to the fine folks of Last Gasp who let me raid the shelves for treasure! Especially Kristine (who came to my Berkeley show) and Jon Longhi who gave me a copy of his new novel!
-The Alternative Press Expo was really cool! I got Seth and Johnny Ryan to draw me in my King Nerd book and got some great stuff that's not out yet! Also got a bunch of stuff for 49 cents an ounce! (Books not drugs!) P.S.-Teach a kid to read!
So I sat next to a cartoonist on the flight back to NYC and we geeked out the whole way back! He was also at A.P.E.! It was cool to have nothing to do but read tons and tons of comix! It's been a slow week at the club but I survived and had a nice sunny weekend with Cristin! I now prepare for adventures in a galaxy far, faraway . . .Star Wars Celebration 3 in Indianapolis! Lucas is going to be there!

I'm in Berkley! The weather is great! I've now been to 2 awesome diners and several thrift shops. Krystal sells books on-line and thrifting provides the stock. She is also giving me pointers on how to sell my books on-line. I have found a couple of good things at the thrifts. The best thing I've bought is a t-shirt that sez YOU BELONG IN THE MIDWEST! The show last night was lots o' fun. I sold a lot of books and got to see some old poetry pals. Mostly I'm psyched about going to the Alternative Press Expo on Saturday. So many awesome comic book artists will be there! Tonight I'm at Tourettes w/o Regrets which should prove to be an interesting experience to say the least!

California, here I come!
Well, I leave Wednesday morning at 6 am and will be there at 11:45 am! This weekend I did all the laundry, got chap-books printed and spent some QT with a snoo! Lots of fun stuff happened this past week. Me and Cristin worked on some comedy writing for a TV show and sent that out. Monday we went to Taylor Mali's birthday dinner and I hung at Bar 13 with Eric Guereri and Guy and a buncha old schoolers and went to the O'Debra's for shits and giggles. Tuesday we had a good night at the club and went to play pool next door after. Thursday we had Gary Glazner feature for us at Urbana and we got his new book HOW TO MAKE A LIVING AS A POET. Full of great advices and stuff. Friday was a crazy busy night with a private party with an open bar and Zero Boy's April Fool's mock trial which was hilarious! Me and Letica cleaned up tip-wise. Tonight is the 7th anniversary show for Bar 13 and me and Cristin are gonna do something together. Tomorrow I have a burlesque show and 2 tuba-based rock bands and for Nite Cap I'm gonna show the Mitch Hedberg DVD. I met Mitch at the first Chicago Comedy Festival and he was a very sweet guy, offering me advice on how to break into the comedy scene and stuff. He was one of the good ones and will be missed by all of us comedy nerds.
