Shappy New Year!
Christmas was great! I trust your holiday was also awesome. My brother has a really nice house. I sat in front of the Yule log reading Live From New York ( a book about SNL) while watching a SNL marathon on cable! Some of it actually synched up! I got a couple of sweaters, 2 giant Pez dispensers, a couple of blank journals, a booklight, Word Freak (a book about competitive Scrabble players), a history of Marvel comics, a history of Batman toys, and of course a new nephew! Man, Luke is so cool! He's like a little poopin Yoda! I can't wait to get my film developed! Hey, did I mention that before I went to Columbus for Christmas that I went into work early last Thursday and Corky from Life Goes On was in the club reading poetry?!?!? How MF'n crazy is that? I guess he has an office job now! Ernie and Susan are in town for New Years! Hooray! Susan has been here the last couple of days for the MLA conference. I took her to a arty holiday party today, it was fun! I finally broke down and rented Country Bears for Cristin tonight. I gotta admit it was pretty funny! Can you believe Christopher Walken is in it? Well, I'm off to Taylor's country bear house in CT tommorow for a mellow New Year's! Hope you have a safe and fun New Year as well!

SHAPPY HOLIDAZE!
Well, here I am visiting with my Mom and my Bro and his wife Katie and my week old nephew Luke! Also, the cat (Max) seems to have taken a shine to me since everybody is paying more attention to the baby than to Max. I know that feeling all too well being a nerd and all. Me and Mom went to Mejer's Thrifty Acres and spent a butt-load of $ on last minute doo-dads. What a great feeling to buy sausage in the same place you bought your pants! I am overwhelmed by my brother's entertainment center with surround sound and Playstation and big screen! It's like being in a hi-tech womb! Dad is due to arrive on X-mas day. I can tell he wants to be here now! The baby is awesome and doing all the tiny baby things babies do. I hope to post a picture here soon!
The less said about the semi-final slam the better. Next time I slam I'll just get up and talk shit. Seems to work for our current slam champ! Congrats!

Man, this year just flew by! I can't believe it's almost X-mas! And I still have some shopping to do! Yikes! Cristin and I are being all domestic and making some Holiday treats!
My nephew is due in 3 days! Hoo-boy! Joel Chmarra is due out here soon. Next Thursday is Urbana semi-finals. It'll be fun to perform again. Yowza! So many good comics came out this week! Hoohah! I'll review some soon!

Sunday, December 08, 2002 Well, I didn't get home from work last night until 7:30 am! Still I made the most tips last night that I have ever made! A big shout out to Moonshine for jumping into the fray last night! Played Scrabble and had Japanese take-out with Cristin, Taylor and Dawn today and am now chillin in a high-rise apartment with Cristin watching cable. Life is sweet. Congrats to George and RAC who got hitched yesterday on the Left coast. I must admit I love X-mas shopping. Thursday, December 05, 2002 First of all-a great big THANK YOU to my folks John and Brenda for such a great visit in senic Ft. Walton, Fl! You guys really went out of your way to keep me and Cristin entertained when really just hanging out and watching cable would have been fun enough for us jaded New Yorkers! Thanks! And I'll see you guys in Columbus! We are in the nidst of a fierce winter storm right now. Tons of snow! I wish we were still in Florida! Still it's nice and Christmasy. I still have some shopping to do. I tend to gather gifts throughout the year, makes things easier. Me and Cristin went and saw Beyond the Valley of the Dolls last night-GENIUS! It has to be one of the funniest movies ever made! I love that you can see movies like that in NYC. Right now they are showing every Star Trek movie until the new one opens next Friday! I can't wait to see it! Urbana and a Matthew Shepard Benefit tonight at the club. Tons of out of town visitors this whole month! Plus slam semi-finals in 2 weeks! Yikes! posted by Shappy at 2:22 PM
Sunday, December 01, 2002 Whoops! Can you believe me and Cristin have been in Florida now for 4 days? And I still haven't found time to update?!?! Yeah, like you're shocked that I would neglrct my web journal. Quite frankly, John and Brenda have been giving us the Seasholtz Power Hour Tour of all things fun in the Florida Panhandle! Thanksgiving was a great meal and mellow night. The next day was the Dolphin show followed by a successful run the to GIGANTIC thrift store where I found a cool Hanna-Barbera x-mas record and a Mushmouse and PunkinPuss children's book I paid $1.25 for both, combined they are worth over $40! Whoo-hoo! I heart finding cool old cartoony stuff! Friday we went to a Flea Market which freaked Cristin out a little I think, too much raw consumerism I guess. I however found a great Underdog piggy bank from 1973 and a couple of comics. Mom and Dad bought me and Cristin a cool bowling pin lamp and a weiner dog welcome sign for when we move in together. AWWWW! We then went to the zoo and fed all kinds of crazy animals including a very sexy giraffe. Then a nice seafood dinner at The Magnolia which had a live accordian player and a nine year old busboy that Cristin thought was cute. Then the neighbors dropped by for a visit and me and Cristin resorted to what we know best-a Scrabble game! Now we are chillin on a Sunday and will most probally end up at the mall at some point today! We fly back tomorrow! See ya soon! posted by Shappy at 1:06 PM
